Advantages of Using Formacide
Feed Disinfection: Effectively disinfects livestock, poultry, and aquaculture feed by controlling and reducing microbial, fungal, and viral contamination while preventing recontamination
Microbial and Fungal Reduction in Fish and Meat Meal: Reduces and controls microbial and fungal load, as well as total volatile nitrogen (TVN)
Antifungal and Mycotoxin Prevention: Prevents fungal growth and mycotoxicosis
Improved Productivity in Poultry: Reduces mortality, increases hatchability, and enhances production efficiency in laying hens
Fertility and Abortion Benefits in Livestock: Mitigates fertility issues and reduces abortion rates caused by mycotoxicosis
Feed Preservation: Protects feed from degradation in the rumen by preventing protein breakdown
pH Reduction and Antibacterial Effects: Lowers pH, acting as a bactericide to inhibit bacterial growth in feed and the digestive tract
Enhanced Digestion: Acidifies the digestive tract, reducing pathogenic bacteria and promoting beneficial gut bacteria, resulting in improved digestion and nutrient absorption, lower feed conversion ratios, and increased productivity
Antibacterial Properties: Like carboxylic acids, it exhibits strong antibacterial activity, particularly against molds and bacteria, as microorganisms cannot metabolize three-carbon organic acids
Antiviral Activity: Reacts with viral nucleic acids, destroying them
Sublimation Effect: Active ingredients are gradually released into the feed, providing prolonged antimicrobial and antifungal effects, thereby protecting feed from pathogens
Industrial Hygiene: Disinfects and cleans feed production lines, equipment, and silos in factories producing feed and supplements.
Consumer Safety: Promotes consumer health by eliminating toxins such as mycotoxins from edible products like milk and other food items.
Cost Reduction: Reduces the need for therapeutic drugs and associated medical expenses.
HACCP Compliance: Supports the implementation of HACCP protocols, improving the quantity and quality of production.
Target Species: Livestock, Poultry, Aquatic Animals
Composition: Propionic Acid + Paraformaldehyde + Hydrated Sodium Calcium Aluminosilicate (HSCAS)
Mechanism of Action: Formacide releases formaldehyde gas, disrupting DNA and RNA synthesis in microorganisms, leading to protein denaturation and eventual destruction of pathogens. Propionic acid, with its carboxylic acid properties, inhibits the growth and proliferation of fungi and bacteria. HSCAS, with its high adsorption capacity, binds to mycotoxins, reducing their intestinal absorption, preventing their activity (especially aflatoxins), and protecting animals against mycotoxicosis
Applications: Prevention and control of bacterial, fungal, and viral contamination in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture feed, while preventing their regrowth. Disinfection of equipment, tools, and feed production lines
Dosage and Method of Use
Mix 600 to 2500 grams of Formacide uniformly into 1 ton of feed for livestock, poultry, or aquatic animals–
For fish & meat meal production facilities, use 5kg per ton to reduce & control microbial and fungal load & TVN–
To disinfect equipment, tools, and feed production lines, mix 5% Formacide with calcium carbonate and pass the mixture through production pathways. Reuse the product as per the above-mentioned quantities
Drug Interactions and Withdrawal Period: None
